Origin Story
El Bosque from Guatemala was founded in 1932 on a small plot of land in Guatemala’s western highlands. The farm is named El Bosque (meaning "the forest") because of the large beautiful shade trees that lie around the farm.

Today, the family-run farm is managed by four brothers of the Flores family, Julio, José, Francisco and Mario, who are 3rd generation coffee farmers. The farm produces around some 500 bags of green coffee annually, 100% of which is destined for the specialty market.
At El Bosque, the coffee is pulped on the same day it is picked. After pulping, the coffee is fermented and then fully washed in clean water before being dried on the mills extensive patios (covering some 1,000 square metres). Drying is conducted in a slow, and controlled fashion with great attention to detail. Only when the parchment coffee has reached optimal humidity is it bagged and moved to the mills warehouses for resting.
